Chapter#2: The Arrival
The lilies on the shore shine now, brighter than the sun;
This astonishing ambiance once again attracts,
The mightiest of nature to compete, to stun.
I am none other than a spectator,
Admiring the survival of the most beautiful;
It seemed the lilies were organizing a contest.
It was the arrival of the ants,
That shook the arena with their heavy might;
The parade of their army was a spectacular sight.
But the lilies were not so impressed.
Then came the beetles with their mighty shells,
They came with the rainbow as a pack;
Gold and silver laden on their back.
The heavens above began to shy away-
As their reflection overturned the strength of the moon.
The night turned luminescent,
But the lilies turned them all down,
Displaying their enchanted scent.
Likewise, hundreds of the mighty came,
And went back with a face full of shame.
Then appeared an astonishing sound,
Which appeared, buzzing and humming all around.
The darkness could not hold it anymore,
So the stars shed their light ashore.
Here came the flock of bees,
With their yellow and black jackets on.
We stood by for some magic or a dance,
As the bees swarmed over the beach,
And the lilies to frown upon.
Though it seemed they decided to entertain one-to-one,
But instead, they surprised me:
As they stung the lilies head-on for nectar.
The astonished lilies on the beach,
Woke from the day's boredom, or maybe with pain-
But the bees kept humming,
With everything they had to gain.
The lilies resisted with all their might,
But later surrendered to nature's plight.
The bees stayed for their meal and gluttony,
And in the end, as it seems,
The lilies started enjoying their company.
